Airbus DiPaRT 2018 - 26th - 28th November

05.11.18 by BBSP

DiPaRT was created in 2010 by Airbus as a mechanism for engaging and collaborating with the UK Flight Physics R&T community. Supporting the UK centred capability in design and integration of wings, landing gear and associated systems, the DiPaRT network of organisations and partners identify potential technologies and research aligned with Airbus R&T strategy.

This year’s event, themed ‘Shaping the Future of Flight’, highlights Airbus’ interest in learning about cross-sector innovation through inviting UK corporate, SME, academic and research organisations who focus on innovation across aerospace, defence, automotive, energy and utilities to submit abstracts. Victoria Cole, Head of Flight Physics Capability UK, and, Lee-Ann Ramcherita, Flight Physics Innovation and Technology Watch Manager, commented, “Our desire to learn about cross-sector innovations has seen a record number of abstracts submitted.”

DiPaRT commences on 26th November at 12.00pm and will deliver over 70 presentations across the three days. The first day will begin witha series of presentations from Airbus, CFMS, Deloitte, and McClaren. An evening reception will mark the close of the first day, along with the annual keynote delivered by Sue Partridge, Head of Wing of Tomorrow at Airbus, presenting an overview of the programme to date. The Flight Physics Symposium will commence at 8.30am on 27th November where delegates will be split into three streams.

About DiPaRT
DiPaRT has been created by Airbus as a mechanism for communicating with, engaging and orchestrating the UK Flight Physics R&T community. The aim is to foster a coherent, well informed and motivated partnership that can help Airbus effectively deliver its strategic vision for a UK capability, supporting design and integration of wings, landing gear and associated systems. Following the establishment of the UK Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) this remit acquires a special significance.

About CFMS
The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) is a not-for-profit specialist in digital engineering capability. As a trusted and neutral provider, our vision is to be the recognised, independent, digital test bed for the design of high value engineering products and processes.

Facilitating a greater understanding of how a product will perform throughout its lifecycle, our digital test bed forms the foundation for Through-Life Engineering Services, creating a virtual replica of systems and processes used for investigation of options and opportunities, in advance of physical development.

Through four core service lines and activities, we enable our customers to accelerate design and manufacturing productivity and competitiveness for their products, processes and services;

  • Integrated system architectures that can deliver improved performance

  • Greater insight into the performance of products or processes in service

  • More informed decision making based on simulated or real world data

  • Cost effective access to state-of the art computational infrastructure

Delegates interested in attending can register through the DiPaRT portal.
